This month, we recognize TALIA VOGT as the NTS Tommy & Lefebvre Player of the Month. Talia began with the OAC and Noble Tennis School several years ago in the Mighty Mites program. She has since moved through the City Team and is now training in the Intermediate (Regional Team) Groups.
Talia has always distinguished herself by the remarkable quality of her effort, conduct and focus. She is someone that truly gives her best at all times, and she shows an attention to detail and desire to understand and participate in the learning process that is admirable in the extreme. These qualities have permitted her to progress very steadily, despite the fact that she has not had a great deal of individual instruction or tournament play.
This past November Talia reached the final of the Under 12 event at the 3-star OTA tournament at the OAC, a remarkable achievement! She won 2 of 3 matches, including a win over the #2 seed on the way to the final. This statistical result, added to her personal qualities and skill acquisition achievements, made her the obvious choice. Congratulations Talia!
Talia will be the recipient of a $25 Gift certificate from Tommy & Lefebvre in recognition of his conduct, effort and accomplishment. |

We arepleasedto present the NTS Player of the Month awards, sponsored by Tommy & Lefebvre, designed to acknowledge students that show significant results in development of skills and statistic results, while maintaining the highest standards of conduct and exhibiting noble human qualities.
This month, we recognize Stuart Macleod as the NTS Tommy & Lefebvre Player of the Month.
Stuart has been working quietly, steadily and diligently at his tennis for many years. Whether it was changing his forehand grip, learning the 1-handed backhand (which made his game resemble more closely that of his hero, Roger Federer), dealing with a dramatic growth spurt that also brought a string of minor injuries and delays in training and competition, or learning to handle the nerves in competition, Stuart has met each new challenge with a good deal of poise and quiet determination. In the meantime, he has become a much-loved fixture of the NTS and OAC, which he clearly regards as his "second home."
Indeed, Stuart, in addition to his many years in the master-path program of the NTS, has been active as an employee in the pro shop, as a hitting partner for younger students, and as a regular playing partner with many of the best adults and juniors in the club and around the city. In October, Stuart had a breakthrough tournament result, reaching the finals of a 3-star provincial event in Burlington, winning 4 matches and defeating two seeded competitors along the way. This has raised his provincial ranking to the top 50 , and we feel sure this is only the beginning. Congratulations and keep up the good work!
Stuart will be the recipient of a $25 Gift certificate from Tommy & Lefebvre in recognition of his conduct, effort and accomplishment.

We are pleased to re-inaugurate the NTS Player of the Month awards, sponsored by Tommy & Lefebvre, designed to acknowledge students that show significant results in development of skills and statistic results, while maintaining the highest standards of conduct and exhibiting noble human qualities.
This month we acknowledge the extraordinary efforts and achievements of:
Jana Higazy and Diana ("Didi") Bredberg.
Jana, age 8, is a Master-Class student of outstanding energy and ability. This was recently acknowledged as she qualified for both the Provincial and National U10 NTC (National Tennis Centre) programs. Qualifying for the provincial NTC is a great accomplishment, especially at age 8, but adding to this the invitation at a national level is quite exceptional, as many competencies must be demonstrated and very few players are selected. It means Jana will have the opportunity to supplement her ongoing work with Lead Coach Carlo Zambri, and the full NTS Team, with periodic regroupings in Montreal. Primarily and most importantly, it indicates that she is progressing effectively, and her love of the game and excellence as a student are leading rapidly towards high levels of mastery. Keep up the great work!
Didi, age 7, is presently in the U9 All-Stars program and has been working with great diligence at her tennis for the past 1.5 years under the tutelage of Lead Coach Tony Roth. She recently qualified for the U9 Ontario NTC program, and was subsequently invited to Montreal for special supplemental training with a national U9 squad! Didi also played in her first tournament in September, winning 2 of 3 matches in Burlington, including against players 2 years older than herself. She is a remarkably attentive student, a very good athlete and a smart player who enjoys using sharp angle shots that drive the opponent crazy! Congratulations Didi!
Didi and Jana will be the recipients of $25 Gift certificates from Tommy & Lefebvre in recognition of their conduct, efforts and accomplishments.
