Personal Message or Motto:

I was 19 years old when I found out I loved tennis, I was playing semi-pro soccer while studying music in UK, and I came back to the OAC during the Christmas holidays. My friend and mentor Carlo Zambri was playing in a tournament (Endless Summer year 1) so I watched his match, and went to the bar with the guys afterwards for what has become the traditional Quarter finals party. During the typical bar banter, the idea was floated that I would lose to a 9 year old girl if I attempted to step out on the court again, I had taken lessons when I was extremely young ages 5-10 but hadn't touched a racquet since. Being the cocky 19 year old who thought he was an amazing athlete, I confidently told them they were insane. Carlo organised the match for the following day. I arrived at the OAC feeling a little bit bad for my poor young opponent and even more so when she was introduced to me, she was at most half my height, had glasses, and pig-tails. I was not intimidated, and it turned out neither was she. I went on to lose in glorious fashion 6-0, 6-0 and I've been in love with the game ever since. I've tried to spend as much time as possible on court since that moment, improving and learning, and now I'm very lucky to be able to share my enthusiasm and passion for the game with everyone who comes to the NTS!
