TEACHING PROFESSIONAL, Kingston Racquet Centre
Posted August 15, 2022
The Kingston Racquet Centre is seeking two full-time tennis professionals.
THE FACILITY
The KRC is a beautiful, brand-new club, opening its doors October, 2022. It features 6 indoor hard courts, with fitness facilities and full amenities, as well as a separate dome for pickleball and multi-sport activities. The KRC is part of the network of clubs operated by Tennis Clubs of Canada, a leader in facility creation and management, with six additional clubs operating across the province of Ontario.
THE MISSION
The City of Kingston has been without an indoor club for many years, despite having a large and active tennis community. The mission of the KRC is to offer its members an exceptional experience, and make the club a focal point for tennis development in the city and region. We will offer instructional programs and organized play for juniors and adults, from introductory to master-class levels. All programming will be delivered through the Noble Tennis School, founded and directed by KRC Racquets Director Tony Roth. Our full-time tennis professionals will be integral leaders in the creation and success of this tennis development mission.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Working closely with the Racquets Director, the Teaching Professional will be responsible for leadership and management of instructional and organized play programs. He or she will teach group and private lessons, and run matchplay and league programs. The Pro can expect to be on court 20-35 hours week, depending on demand and preference, in addition to off-court administrative work related to their programs and lessons. He or she must be willing and able to teach a variety of levels, both juniors and adults, though we will tailor the focus of work according to experience and preference as much as possible. The teaching professional will be required to become familiar with the mission and values of Tennis Clubs of Canada, and the philosophy, pathways and methodology of the Noble Tennis School.
REMUNERATION
Rates will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Teachers will receive additional pay when acting as a Program Leader, or when leading or assisting with special events such as tournaments or socials.
